Are you a Child or a Young Person who has experience of emotional or mental health difficulties?
Do you care for a Child or a Young Person who has experience of emotional or mental health difficulties?
Do you work with Children and Young People?
If yes, there is an opportunity to get involved in shaping and designing services for Children and Young People in Surrey to address emotional wellbeing and mental health needs.
Surrey County Council in partnership with Surrey Clinical Commissioning Groups is holding a series of events for families, children, young people and professionals to join an open and honest discussion about the future of emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people across Surrey.
The series of workshops will run between 14 January and 22 January 2019 in locations across the county including Staines, Ewell, Caterham, Dorking, Woking, Godalming and Farnham. They will be tailored for different groups and will provide an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the way emotional wellbeing and mental health support and care is provided for children, young people, families and carers.
The daytime and evening sessions will allow people to talk about their hopes and concerns regarding the emotional wellbeing and mental health service, identify the challenges and focus on what good care for our children and young people could look like.
Views captured from the workshops will be incorporated into the planning of future service specifications. Details of feedback captured in the sessions will be published.

16 January 2019 update
Due to unforeseen and highly regrettable circumstances, we have been unable to secure registered child care as advertised (a crèche) for the workshops that are tailored for parents and carers of children aged 0 to 10yrs. If you were planning to bring young children to the workshop, which you are very welcome to do, you would need to be responsible for their welfare. There will be staff present to facilitate the workshop but they are not registered child minders or nursery nurses and so will not be able to take legal responsibility for any care that may be required.
We are very sorry if this means that you do not feel you can attend and take part. If that is the case, please do let us know. We will make alternative arrangements to seek your views as they are important and we need to hear from you. Please email: email@example.com if you can no longer attend.
We hope to see you at a workshop and apologise again for any inconvenience that this may cause.
