The Patient Public Engagement (PPE) Group

The CCG’s Patient and Public Engagement (PPE) Group provides the Governing Body of the CCG with a formal and transparent procedure that contributes to fulfilment of its duty to involve patients and the public in shaping NHS services.

The PPE Group meets every other month and is chaired by the Lay Member for Patient and Public Engagement, who sits on the Quality and Clinical Governance Committee and the Governing Body. This ensures that the patient and carer voice is linked directly to the decision-making bodies of the CCG.

Membership of the group is open to anyone who represents a group, a special interest or a voluntary organisation. We welcome anyone who can represent the voice of our patients and carers. Organisations currently represented on the PPE Group’s membership include Catalyst, Voluntary Action South West Surrey, the Centre for Wellbeing at the University of Surrey and Sight for Surrey.

If you would like to join the PPE Group, please email gwccg.info@nhs.net with your name and details of the group or organisation that you represent. We look forward to having you on board!

Further details regarding the remit of the PPE Group can be found in its Terms of Reference. Minutes of past meetings can be seen below.

Patient Participation Groups (PPG)

Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) are a great way for patients to support their local GP practice. PPGs do many things – there is no set format. Most of our 21 member GP practices in Guildford and Waverley have a PPG – some have core members who meet regularly whilst others operate virtually.

Contact your GP practice to find out how to join your local PPG and help to make stronger the relationship between patients and their practices. Practice details can be accessed via the GP Practices page of this website.

PPG Chairs Network Meeting

The CCG coordinates a quarterly meeting for the Chairs of PPGs in Guildford and Waverley, chaired by the CCG’s Lay Member for Patient and Public Engagement. Views and information are shared to mutual benefit. Through this relationship, PPG Chairs have been involved with several procurements of health care services, sitting on evaluation panels, contributing to decisions made by the CCG.

Terms of Reference for PPG Group

If you are a newly appointed Chair of a PPG in Guildford and Waverley or a Practice Manager who oversees a virtual PPG and you would like to attend these meetings, please email gwccg.info@nhs.net with detail of you and your group.

Minutes of these meeting are made available as soon as they have been approved by members and signed by the Chair.
